Qualified to Walk with Kings

God blesses me to do some consultant work for non-profits and one of the things I shared with our board members was a lesson from the book of Esther. She had a problem that needed the King's attention but she approached him with tremendous wisdom. She entreated him with honor and dignity, impressed him and recognized his authority even though he was oblivious to what was happening, and then she addressed the problem. How you address an issue goes a long way in how the matter is resolved. Further, to stand in the King's court (or to hold the ear of the one in authority), it is extremely important that you consider your presentation (what you say and how you say it). I added that Nehemiah, the cupbearer, was cautious to watch his countenance before approaching King Artaxerxes about rebuilding Jerusalem. My point was that presentation is essential to a person in authority keeping their ear open to you. And if your role is to advise someone in leadership, you need the wisdom from God to deal with problems without being overcome by them.
